🍹 Milwaukee's Happiest Happy Hour

We didn't give ourselves that name lightly. Every day, Monday through Saturday, from 4 to 6 PM, and all night (4-8 PM) on Sunday, Maxie's Happy Hour is exactly what the end of the day should feel like.
- $2 fresh-shucked oysters — the best deal in Milwaukee, full stop.
- $9 select appetizers — because great food shouldn't wait for dinner.
- Buck Off! drinks — a dollar off all beer, wine, and cocktails. Every day.
It's the kind of Happy Hour that turns a quick drink into a proper start to the evening. Come in for the oysters. Stay for three rounds. We'll see you at 4.
🎷 Monday Night Jazz
Every Monday · 5:30 – 8:00 PM
Monday has a reputation problem. At Maxie's, we fixed it.
Every Monday night starting at 5:30 PM, live jazz fills the air out on the patio during the summer months, and upstairs dining room when weather won't cooperate. And because the music streams throughout the entire restaurant, you'll hear it whether you're seated upstairs with a front-row view or settled in downstairs with a bourbon and a bowl of gumbo.
The lineup rotates weekly, featuring some of Milwaukee's best jazz ensembles and touring acts. It's the kind of music that slows the evening down in the best possible way — unhurried, warm, and exactly right with a Mint Julep or a glass of wine in hand.
Monday Night Jazz is free with your dinner. No cover. No catch. Just great music and even better food.
Reserve a table — especially upstairs — if you want to make a proper night of it.
🍗 Chicken Fried Tuesday
Every Tuesday · 4:00 – 9:00 PM
Maxie's has been voted Milwaukee's Best Fried Chicken by the Shepherd Express — and on Tuesdays, we celebrate that with a full night of Chicken Fried specials and drinks to match.
Every Tuesday from 4 to 9 PM, you'll find a rotating selection of Chicken Fried food specials alongside some well-priced reasons to raise a glass:
- $2 off all tap beers
- $7 glass of Prosecco or Sparkling Rosé
- $28 bottles of Sparkling — perfect for a table that's celebrating (or just really loves bubbles with fried chicken, which is a perfectly valid lifestyle choice)
Tuesday specials cannot be combined with Happy Hour deals, but Happy Hour runs 4–6 PM — so arrive early, enjoy the oyster deal, then settle in for the full Chicken Fried Tuesday experience.
Fair warning: our pressure-fried chicken, served with housemade mashed potatoes, maple braised collard greens, and an orange-honey butter biscuit, has been known to cause immediate return visits.
🥃 Whiskey Wednesday

Maxie's pours over 125 whiskeys. Wednesday is when we really dig in.
Every Wednesday from 4 to 9 PM, Whiskey Wednesday turns our bar into a destination for bourbon lovers, Old Fashioned devotees, and anyone who's curious to learn what all the fuss is about. The weekly lineup:
- $8 Maxie's Old Fashioned — our house riff on the classic, built the Southern way
- $8 Southern Bourbon Punch — a crowd-pleasing pour that earns its name
- $9 Classic Old Fashioned featuring a different rotating whiskey every week — a great reason to come back and compare
- Weekly whiskey flight — three 1 oz pours of rotating featured whiskeys, curated to explore a theme, a distillery, or a style
- Whiskey-paired food specials — because the right bite makes the right pour even better

Every Thursday
Thursday deserves a proper wind-down. We agree. Which is why every Thursday at Maxie's, every bottle of wine on our list is half price.
Not select bottles. Not one featured wine. Every. Bottle.
Our wine list is thoughtfully curated to complement Southern cooking — crisp whites that pair beautifully with oysters, medium-bodied reds that stand up to our slow-smoked brisket, and sparkling options that make everything feel like a celebration. On Thursdays, you get all of it at half the price.
The Wine Down is one of those nights that tends to turn a party of two into a lingering, bottle-finishing, maybe-we-should-order-one-more-thing kind of evening. Dress accordingly.
🐟 Friday Fish Fry

In Wisconsin, Friday Fish Fry is a religion. At Maxie's, we take that seriously.
Every Friday, we serve our beer-battered, deep-fried fresh Haddock — golden, crispy, and piled high — alongside creamy coleslaw, housemade tartar sauce, and Cajun waffle fries. It's the Friday ritual done right, with a little Southern heat and a lot of soul.
Milwaukee has no shortage of fish fry options. But there aren't many places where you can follow it up with fresh-shucked oysters, a properly made Sazerac, and lively music piping through the room. That's the Maxie's difference.

Saturday at Maxie's is what weekends are made for. The full menu is firing on all cylinders — oysters at the raw bar, slow-smoked barbecue, Cajun and Creole classics, and craft cocktails from a bar stocked with 125+ whiskeys and top-shelf spirits across the board.
Happy Hour runs 4–6 PM just like every other day — $2 oysters, $9 apps, and Buck Off! drinks — making Saturday the perfect excuse to arrive early and settle in for a long, leisurely evening.
